She received her BFA from Laguna College of Art and Design and focused on painting, illustration, and sculpture. She later moved to New York and received her MFA from the New York Academy of Art in painting with an emphasis in anatomy. In 2012 she was awarded the LIA Art Programme residency in Leipzig, Germany, and in 2017 was an artist in residence at UCROSS Foundation.&nbsp; Timmons has been included in shows throughout California and New York, and her work has received recognition in the Huffington Post, Chaleur Magazine, and E-VOLVED Magazine. Timmons creates work that draws upon the aesthetics and vibrancy of the West Coast environment she was raised in. The endlessly lush foothills, the arid mountains, the Pacific Ocean and powerful lighting of the Golden State permeate Timmons’ motivation and creative intuition. She works predominantly in oil on canvas and panel and in acrylics on silk.&nbsp; Her subject matter showcases the associative iconography of landscape and the people who occupy it, as well as the haunting and salient qualities of memory and perception.
